Monitoring our oceans
With 75 connections and very positive feedback, this first international meeting of SCO projects was a great success. Congratulations to the Global Awareness working group that organized it!

Preamble: presentation by Nicolas Picot (CNES) of the Franco-American SWOT satellite mission which, since 2023, has been revolutionizing space altimetry and hydrology with results of exceptional quality and accuracy.

🇳🇴 HabHB project, by Lars Johan Nautsvoll from the Institute of Marine Research, which aims to improve the detection and warning of high-biomass phytoplankton blooms in Norwegian fjords, whose adverse impact on coastal activities is accentuated by climate change.

🇫🇷 LITTOSAT project, by Marie Jagaille from the Franch company Hytech-Imaging, which has implemented an infrastructure for the production and distribution of seasonal regional satellite products, making it possible to observe changes in coastal vegetation and measure the effects of climate change.

🇸🇪🇬🇧 SwedCoast-BlueCarb project, by Susanne Kratzer from Stockholm University, to produce maps of underwater vegetation in order to provide information on Baltic blue carbon, climate change, and the effect of land type and land use on coastal water quality.
