15th meeting of SCO France

Published on 15/07/2026
Orléans is home to the headquarters of the BRGM, which, on Thursday 9 July 2026, hosted the 15th Inter-Organizational Committee (IOC) meeting of SCO France. Combining a review of the first half of the year with a collaborative workshop, the session featured a wealth of constructive discussions.

The BRGM Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières is the French public body specializing in soil and subsoil. In recent years, it has become known to the general public for its national groundwater maps, which are now regularly featured on news programmes and weather forecasts to provide a national overview of water resources. Its hosting of the 15th IOC meeting is in itself a symbol of the SCO’s efforts to adapt to the impacts of climate change.

Collaborative workshop

How can we maximize visibility for a portfolio of 140 projects – and soon to be more? With projects categorizable across numerous criteria (theme, region, service available or under development, SDGs, etc.), which search criteria should we prioritize? This was a wide-ranging discussion that warranted a group review through a collaborative workshop: the broad outlines have been established, and we will make the most of them!

A big thank you to all the participants – see you at the next CIO in early 2027.
