Coming soon: 17th SCO France Quarterly Meeting

P4UF, a pioneering flood risk assessment project

As extreme climatic events intensify, observation and modeling tools are becoming essential levers for anticipating and managing risks. With very promising initial results, the Pléiades4UrbanFlood project explores the potential of high-resolution Pléiades monoscopic imagery to produce an initial assessment of the vulnerability of an urban environment to flooding.

China Space Day

"This is just the beginning", SCO at China Space Day

From April 22 to 24, 2025, China's space agency CNSA organized China Space Day in Shanghai. For the SCO, it was an opportunity to talk about how it is changing the face of climate adaptation, notably by revealing its latest video, "Observe, Collaborate, Act: Space for the Benefit of Climate", but also by offering a focus on SCO France, China and Thailand.

Cartovege2

Cartovege2 : Mission Amsterdam

Following on from the Cartovege1 project on Crozet, Cartovege² is now heading for the islands of St Paul and Amsterdam. After two months in the field, the project has all the data it needs to transpose its model to Amsterdam, apply it to St Paul and publish the second volume of the French Southern Territories Habitat Guide.

SeSaM

Tackling the scourge of sargassum with SeSaM

Since 2011, millions of tonnes of sargassum seaweed have washed up on beaches from the Caribbean to West Africa, causing serious ecological and health damage. By analyzing the color of the water via satellite, the SeSaM project is able to spot this seaweed at sea and use modelling to predict its arrival up to three months in advance.
